Grand Mesa Trail Work August 3rd and 4th

Grand Junction, Colo—Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association, Antonelli’s Advanced Automotive and the local Forest Service office have partnered together to give back to the trails we all love.

COPMOBA, Antonelli’s and the Forest Service have partnered on trail work events on the Grand Mesa for nearly 15 years. This year we have identified several sections of trail that need our help. The great winter we had took its toll on Mesa Top, West Bench and Crane Lake trails. Repairing those trails will take some help from volunteers.

COPMOBA will supply the crew leaders so anyone can join us as the is no experience needed. COPMOBA also has a large selection of trail building tools for everyone to use. Antonelli’s will provide some food and refreshments after the work is done….AND give everyone attending Saturday’s event a $35 gift card to their repair shop. The local Forest Service office continues to be very supportive of mountain bikes and the trails we love.

Due to some damage to the road to Flowing Park the staging area has yet to be confirmed. Watch for updates in your email or on Facebook. We will meet at 8:30 Saturday morning and will send crews in a couple different directions. Some crews will be walking in and some have the possibility of riding bikes to the work areas. After all the crews have returned we will have some cold drinks and a nice meal, possibly a taco bar this year.

The evenings activities include games, swimming in the nearby reservoir, campfire stories, smores and quite often a little music.

Several volunteers and crew leaders campout Friday and/or Saturday nights. We do our best to accommodate any camping outfit you have. Larger trailers to tents and popups have all found a good place to park.

Sunday’s activities vary and can include a little more trail work or just a fun day of riding and getting to the trails and each other.

Please consider joining as we invest in our wonderful higher elevation trail system.
